Quinn got back from her first three day overnight Girl Scout camp last night. Her camp name chosen for this year is "Sweety" since I call her sweety and Thom calls her sweety petey. She learned archery and claims to almost hit the bulls eye...don't we all. There was canoeing, kayaking, hiking, fishing, crafts, fossil hunting and her personal favorite, star gazing. The first story Quinn had to tell was about seeing Saturn - it is so much darker in the country that she was finally able to see it. She brought home a finely crafted bird house as well as a tick that bit her! I guess they send the tick home in a baggy in case she gets sick so it can be tested - she thought it was cool. I was really worried about all the rain Sunday night, but it didn't seem to phase her too much..surprising. Her sleeping quarters consisted of a platform tent so she was high and dry. Quinn said her two roommates "have to wear a uniform to school...plaid skirts and white tops...can you believe it?" She was baffled that this goes on in today's world...funny stuff. Anyway, the camp was a great time and she is looking forward to her next week long camp in a few weeks!
